Upcoming Changes to Xero Plans and Pricing for Australian Users
Important Updates from Xero for Australian Customers
Xero has announced significant updates to their subscription plans and pricing for Australian customers, effective from 1 July 2024. These changes are designed to streamline offerings and adjust to evolving business needs.
New Plan Lineup and Enhancements
Starting 1 July 2024, Xero will reduce its partner plans to two—Xero Ledger and Xero Cashbook—and introduce three new business plans: Xero Ignite, Xero Grow, and Xero Comprehensive. These changes aim to simplify the plan structure, making it easier to access tools and features. The Ultimate plan will also see enhancements, including expanded access to Xero Expenses and Xero Projects for up to 10 users.
The new business plans will replace several existing plans, including Payroll Cashbook, GST Cashbook, Payroll Only, Starter, Standard, and Premium plans, which will no longer be sold from this date. Existing add-ons will also be discontinued for separate purchase.
Transition to New Plans
The transition to new plans will occur in phases starting from 1 July 2024, with the aim of completing all transitions by March 2025. Xero will provide a minimum of 60 days’ notice before moving any subscriptions, ensuring ample time for adjustment.
Pricing Changes
From 1 July 2024, there will be a price increase for current plans:
- Ledger plan will increase by $0.50 per month.
- Payroll Only plan will increase to $20 per month.
- Starter plan will increase to $35 per month.
- Standard plan will increase to $70 per month.
- Premium 5 plan will increase to $90 per month.
- Ultimate plans for 20, 50, and 100 tiers will increase to $145, $200, and $245 per month respectively.
Retirement of Planday and New Partnership with Deputy
Additionally, Xero has decided to retire its Planday product in Australia as of 30 September 2024, to focus on its core markets in Europe. In its place, Xero has formed a strategic partnership with Deputy, a leading provider of timesheets, attendance, and scheduling solutions. This partnership will integrate Deputy’s capabilities directly into the Xero platform, offering a robust solution for workforce management.
Customers currently using Planday are encouraged to transition to Deputy, with promotional offers available for sign-ups before specific dates in 2024.
These updates from Xero signify a commitment to enhancing service delivery and functionality, catering to the diverse needs of businesses and partners in Australia.
