MYOB AccountRight Offline Mode Ending from 17 June 2026
MYOB AccountRight Offline Mode Ending – Key Changes from June 2026
From 17 June 2026, MYOB will discontinue offline mode for AccountRight desktop. Going forward, all company files must be stored online to remain accessible.
This change applies from AccountRight version 2026.5 (PC edition) onwards. Files stored locally (in My Library or Network Library) will no longer be able to be opened, edited or saved in supported versions of the software.
What this means:
- Company files must be moved online to continue using AccountRight
- An active MYOB AccountRight subscription will be required
- Offline files will become inaccessible in future versions
What’s not changing:
- AccountRight desktop will continue to be available
- Core functionality remains the same
- Only the storage location of files is changing
MYOB has confirmed this move is driven by the need to modernise its platform and align with current technology standards. The shift to online storage is expected to deliver several improvements:
- Enhanced security, including two-factor authentication (2FA)
- Automatic online backups
- Improved performance and reliability
- Faster and more frequent product updates
- Access to future enhancements, including AI-driven features
Understanding offline vs online files:
- Online files: Appear under “Online” after signing in to MYOB
- Offline files: Stored locally and only visible in My Library or Network Library
Files that remain offline after 17 June 2026 will need to be migrated online to remain usable in supported versions of AccountRight.
Planning ahead and confirming file locations well before the deadline will help ensure a smooth transition and continued access to your accounting data.
