Minimum Wages to Rise by 3.5% from 1 July 2025

From 1 July 2025, minimum wages in Australia will increase by 3.5% following the Fair Work Commission’s 2024–25 Annual Wage Review.

This change affects both:

  • The National Minimum Wage, which will rise to $948 per week or $24.95 per hour

  • Minimum award wages, which also go up by 3.5%

These new rates apply from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2025. For example, if your pay week starts on a Wednesday, the changes apply from Wednesday 2 July.

What you should do now

  • Use the Pay and Conditions Tool to check which award applies to you

  • Bookmark the Fair Work website for updated wage tools close to 1 July

  • Subscribe to email updates or follow Fair Work on social media for reminders and news

Covered by an agreement?

Enterprise agreement holders should check if the new base rate under the relevant award is higher—if so, it must be matched.

Other important changes

  • Pharmacy Award pay rates change on both 30 June and 1 July 2025

  • The superannuation guarantee increases to 12% from 1 July 2025
